SHARJAH, UAE / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia is set to launch direct flights connecting Sharjah and Gdansk starting December 14, 2026, creating a new route linking the UAE with northern Poland. The airline will operate five weekly flights between Sharjah International Airport and Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport, with services scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This route will provide travelers from Poland’s Pomeranian region a direct air connection to Sharjah.
Flights on Mondays and Saturdays will follow the schedule with flight G9 0628 departing Sharjah at 4 p.m. and arriving in Gdansk at 8 p.m., while G9 0629 will leave Gdansk at 8:50 p.m. and reach Sharjah at 6:10 a.m. the following day. On Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, the departure from Sharjah is scheduled for 8:15 a.m., with the return flight departing Gdansk at 1:05 p.m. and arriving in Sharjah at 10:25 p.m.
Following the addition of Gdansk, Air Arabia will have four Polish destinations from Sharjah, after the airline’s planned December expansion takes effect. Currently, the airline operates flights to Krakow and Warsaw Chopin Airport from its main hub in the UAE. Additionally, flights to Katowice will commence on December 17, 2026, just three days after the Gdansk route launches. The Katowice service will operate four times weekly, broadening the airline’s Polish network and schedule.
Gdansk enhances direct connectivity with northern Poland
The new Gdansk route broadens Air Arabia’s European network from Sharjah, adding a Baltic coast destination. The airline’s European destinations also include Athens, Vienna, Prague, Milan, Munich, Rome, and London Gatwick. Gdansk Airport serves the larger Tri-City area consisting of Gdansk, Gdynia, and Sopot, as well as other parts of northern Poland. It offers both domestic and international connections suitable for leisure and business travelers alike across the region.
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive of Air Arabia, remarked that Gdansk would strengthen the airline’s footprint in Poland. The airport has identified Sharjah as a transfer hub for onward flights to India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and East Africa, making the new route a vital connector for passengers at Gdansk to access Air Arabia’s extensive network via its hub in Sharjah.
Scheduled for December, five flights per week to Gdansk
Air Arabia utilizes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft across its network and has already opened reservations for the Gdansk route. The flight G9 0628 will operate on Mondays and Saturdays departing from Sharjah, with G9 0629 serving the return legs. On Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, flights will be operated by G9 0626 from Sharjah and G9 0627 from Gdansk. All scheduled times are local, and the route will run nonstop both ways.
The launch on December 14 will expand Air Arabia’s direct Polish routes shortly before the carrier begins flying to Katowice. With existing services to Krakow and Warsaw, the addition of Gdansk and Katowice will bring the airline’s Polish destinations from Sharjah to four. Gdansk will feature five weekly flights, while Katowice will operate four, following the confirmed December timetable. The airline maintains that the Gdansk flights and schedule remain scheduled for December 2026.
