SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia will commence direct flights from Sharjah International Airport to Amman City Airport starting November 15, 2026. The airline plans to operate this route four times weekly, creating an additional direct link between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia connects Sharjah with Queen Alia International Airport, providing travelers access to two Amman airports. The upcoming flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The flight G9 169 will leave Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arrive in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return flight, G9 170, departs Amman at 11:20 a.m. and lands in Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Reservations are now available via the airline’s website, call center, and travel agency partners. The route was announced on October 8, more than a month ahead of the first scheduled flight.
This new Sharjah route expands Air Arabia Group’s existing network in Jordan, which already includes services from Abu Dhabi and Alexandria. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi operates flights connecting Zayed International Airport with both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Additionally, the airline offers direct flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport. The new route from Sharjah offers passengers another departure point to reach Jordan’s capital.
Sharjah route enhances Jordan connectivity with a second airport
Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, stated that the new service provides travelers with an alternative airport option in Amman. He emphasized that the additional connection will improve convenience and flexibility for those traveling between Jordan and the UAE. The airline will continue its existing flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, making Amman City Airport a secondary gateway in Jordan on Air Arabia’s schedule.
Earlier in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched flights to Amman City Airport, starting May 1 with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. This service complemented the airline’s existing flights to Queen Alia International Airport. When the new service began, Air Arabia reported a total of 10 weekly flights to Amman from Abu Dhabi. Now, this two-airport approach will be extended to Sharjah as well.
Four weekly flights enhance UAE-Jordan air travel options
The upcoming flights from Sharjah will operate under the G9 169 and G9 170 flight numbers as per the published schedule. Air Arabia’s fleet primarily consists of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. Passengers can enjoy SkyTime in-flight entertainment, onboard meals via SkyCafe, and earn rewards through the Air Rewards loyalty program. The new Amman City Airport flights can be booked through the airline’s usual sales channels ahead of the November launch.
The introduction of these flights in November broadens Air Arabia Group’s connectivity between the UAE and Jordan through multiple hubs. Sharjah passengers will now have direct access to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi passengers already benefit from services to both airports via Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, and Alexandria maintains a direct link to Amman City Airport. This new route will add four weekly flights from Sharjah to the group’s wider Jordan schedule.
