    Nahyan bin Mubarak attends Iraq National Day celebrations at Expo 2020 Dubai

    Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai, attended today the Republic of Iraq’s celebration of its National Day and the centenary of the Iraqi state. The ceremony was attended by a high level Iraqi delegation, headed by Dr. Ali Allawi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Saleh Al Tamimi, Under-secretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mudaffar Mustafa Al Jubouri, Iraqi Ambassador to the UAE among others. The Iraqi National Folklore Group, which was established in 1971, performed a show of traditional Iraqi arts.

    Sheikh Nahyan welcomed the Iraqi delegation, saying the country’s rich history and culture have been a source of inspiration to many intellectuals, writers and innovators around the world. “We trust that our strong relations with Iraq will be beneficial to the two brotherly peoples. This year, the UAE invested over US$ 3 billion in Iraq. We also seek to increase our trade exchange with Iraq, which reached US$ 14 billion in 2020,” he added.

    Dr. Ali Allawi thanked the UAE for the invitation and praised the levels of organisation and hospitality at Expo 2020 Dubai. He added that Expo 2020 Dubai provides a lot of opportunities to learn about, and to benefit from the latest developments in science, technology, and Artificial Intelligence. The Iraqi Pavilion, at the Opportunity District, highlights Iraqi culture, arts, science, literature and folklore, as the nation celebrates its past while striving to create a brighter tomorrow.

    Gothenburg Gains Direct Nonstop Flights from Abu Dhabi, Etihad Launches Seasonal Service

    Etihad Airways will commence a seasonal nonstop route connecting Abu Dhabi and Gothenburg starting December 17, 2026. Operating four times weekly, the flights will continue until March 21, 2027. This new service links Zayed International Airport with Göteborg Landvetter Airport during the winter travel season. Tickets are currently available through the airline’s booking platforms. New seasonal flights will connect Abu Dhabi directly with Gothenburg from December. This route marks the first direct air connection between western Sweden and the United Arab Emirates. Etihad describes it as Gothenburg’s inaugural nonstop link to the Middle East and Asia. Passengers can connect via Abu Dhabi to destinations across South Asia, Southeast Asia and East Asia, including Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, Singapore, Hanoi, Bali, Shanghai, Taipei, Bengaluru and Colombo. The new route also provides direct access to western Sweden for travelers from the UAE. The flights will be operated using an Airbus A321LR, which accommodates up to 160 passengers. The aircraft’s cabin features two First Suites, 14 Business seats, and 144 Economy seats. The First and Business Class seats convert into fully flat beds and provide direct aisle access. Economy travelers enjoy 13.3-inch 4K touchscreen entertainment systems, while high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the aircraft. Thanks to the aircraft’s long-range capability, Etihad can offer three cabin classes on this Gothenburg route. Enhanced international connectivity
