Rolex, the number one luxury watch brand globally, celebrates the 60th anniversary of the iconic Cosmograph Daytona, unveiling its new-generation Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona. The new version showcases subtle refinements to the watch’s classic design and technical performance while retaining its emblematic style and technical prowess. The singular design of the watch has characterized the chronograph since its launch and continues to hold a legendary status among sport chronographs.

The singular design of the watch has been revisited with subtle refinements to a number of details, including the dial receiving a new graphic balance, harmonious color combinations accentuating the contrast between the dial and counters, and the Oyster case being redesigned. The updated version features the new Calibre 4131, a self-winding mechanical movement that delivers outstanding precision, power reserve, convenience, and reliability. Furthermore, the watch is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 meters, as is characteristic of Rolex watches.

The Cosmograph Daytona is forever linked to the world of motorsport and, 60 years after its launch, continues to boast unparalleled status among sport chronographs. Rolex played a pioneering role in the development of special ceramics for creating monobloc bezels and bezel inserts, offering a virtually scratch-proof quality. In addition, thanks to its chemical composition, the high-tech ceramic is inert and cannot corrode. The new-generation Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with a monobloc Cerachrom bezel in chestnut brown ceramic, black ceramic, or black ceramic coated with a thin layer of platinum or yellow gold via a PVD process.

Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona carries the Superlative Chronometer certification, ensuring excellent performance on the wrist. Rolex’s new-generation Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona continues to cement its iconic status in the luxury watch market, appealing to individuals who appreciate the watch’s design, style, technical performance, and precision.

Legionella DNA Detected in Yankee Stadium Cooling Tower, NYC Expands Testing Efforts

    September 16, 2026

During an investigation into an outbreak in South Bronx, New York City health officials identified Legionella DNA in a Yankee Stadium cooling tower. By Tuesday night, the city confirmed 11 cases of Legionnaires’ disease, with one fatality and three individuals hospitalized. The New York City Health Department found preliminary positive PCR results in 10 of 24 cooling towers sampled across ZIP codes 10451 and 10456. Yankee Stadium is included in New York City’s South Bronx cooling tower investigation. The zone affected covers parts of the Melrose and Morrisania neighborhoods. Officials collected samples from cooling towers while investigating potential environmental sources of the infections. PCR testing detects Legionella bacteria’s genetic material but does not confirm whether the bacteria are alive. To determine viability, culture testing is necessary, a process that can take up to two weeks, according to authorities. The Yankees stated that their current outbreak is not linked to Yankee Stadium. They confirmed that their cooling towers, installed in 2024, undergo routine water quality inspections. A Legionella test on Aug. 20 returned a negative result. Additionally, the team performed weekly water and bacteriological testing on Aug. 26, Sept. 2, and Sept. 9, prior to the city’s sample collection at the stadium on Sept. 11.
